Letter C Therapy

Remote Counselling based in North Wales

Care. Compassion. Connection.

Your counselling journey starts here.

My name is Caroline Burnell, and I am a qualified person-centred counsellor and the founder of Letter C Therapy. I offer remote counselling via online and telephone appointments to suit your schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, based from my office in Conwy, North Wales.

Whether you want to explore feelings of anxiety, challenges within a relationship, stress and work pressures, grief and loss, life changes, or self-esteem and identity, you deserve to feel heard by a therapist who truly listens in a supportive and safe environment.

About Letter C Therapy

I aim to create a warm, inclusive online person-centred counselling environment where we can work together to explore whatever you’d like to discuss with a curious and non-judgemental approach. It’s a big step to reach out and ask for support, so I will be here alongside you as you navigate through any challenges in therapy, however big or small.

Areas of Expertise

Relationships

From family to friends to colleagues and partners, our relationships can greatly influence our lives. I can help you navigate through ongoing challenges, or new issues, however complicated it may seem.

Grief

Losing someone in our life can change our world in an instant. I can support you through these complex emotions, and help to process difficult thoughts.

Stress

Stress can be triggered by one single event, or a build up of lots of things over time. By sharing your stresses with me, we can understand the causes, leading to finding sustainable, manageable solutions.

Self-Esteem

Learning more about who we are, our identity, and why we feel the way we do can be one of the most freeing experiences. Helping to shift our self-esteem in a more neutral direction can be life-changing for some

Corporate

Having spent over 20 years in corporate life, I understand the politics, competitiveness, frustrations, and challenges of working in this environment. I can support you to make sense of these emotions and ease some of those stresses.

Anxiety

Rather than dive straight into 'fixing' it, my approach is to understand the feelings of anxiety first, giving insight and knowledge to feel more equipped to deal with challenging thoughts.

Depression

Depression can manifest in many different ways and infiltrate our daily lives, making it hard to face the world. By exploring these feelings, we can better understand how to move forward more positively.

Therapy You Can Trust

Qualified

I am a qualified person-centred counselling professional and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Experienced

In addition to my counselling experience, which includes the NHS, Choose Therapy, ChildLine, and Shout, I also have over 20 years in a corporate environment.

Supportive

I operate within a safe, non-judgemental, inclusive, remote environment, giving a genuinely empathetic space to share whatever you feel comfortable to.

What Issues Can Therapy Help With?

Whether you are facing a new disruption in your life, or are trying to process long-term challenges, I can support you through a variety of issues, with care, compassion, and connection, including:

Anxiety

Depression

Self-esteem issues

Life changes and transitions

Work challenges

Relationship struggles

Stress and overwhelm

General feelings of being stuck in a rut

Grief and loss

Loneliness or isolation

Getting Started

I offer a free 10 minute phone call prior to any first session so that you can ask any questions about the process, how everything might work, what you can expect from me as a therapist, and how we can best work together. If you decide that I am not the right therapist for you, that is absolutely okay – counselling works best when we know we can work together and form a healthy relationship. Equally, if I feel I am unable to work with you, perhaps because of a topic you might want to cover, I will be able to signpost you to another qualified counsellor if appropriate.

Fees & Availability

I offer individual online or telephone appointments, for adults over the age of 18 in a safe and confidential environment from my office in Conwy, North Wales. Each session is 50 minutes. I offer appointments in early morning, evening, and weekend slots, designed to be flexible to suit your needs. You can either book the same slot, or change days to fit with your schedule.

I charge a flat, transparent fee of £60 per hour to everyone, as I believe this to be fair and consistent for all.

Get in Touch

To make sure I am the right therapist for you, I offer a 10-minute free telephone or online consultation where we can discuss any questions you may have, and I can explain the counselling process if you are unfamiliar.

The first step is often the hardest, so I have made it easy for you – fill in your details and let me know a convenient time to call, and I will send you an appointment confirmation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is counselling and how does it work?

Counselling is a safe, confidential space where you can talk openly about your thoughts, feelings, and challenges with a trained professional. Together, we explore what’s happening for you and find ways to better understand yourself, build coping strategies, and move toward positive change.

What types of issues can counselling help with?

Counselling can support a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, life transitions, and personal growth. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit - counselling is also valuable for self-reflection and personal development.

How do I know if I need counselling?

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, struggling to cope, or simply want to understand yourself better, counselling may be helpful. Many people seek counselling when they notice patterns or feelings that are holding them back from living fully.

How do I book a session?

Booking is simple. You can either email me or book using my online calendar to arrange your initial 10 minute appointment. This session is useful to answer any questions before we begin and help you to feel more comfortable with the counselling process.

What happens in the first therapy session?

The first session always starts with talking through our counselling agreement, which sets out the practical and ethical framework for our work together and helps us both understand what to expect from the counselling process. This agreement covers things like confidentiality, boundaries, and practical details such as fees, cancellations, session times, how to reschedule, as well as what you can expect from me as your counsellor, and what I ask from you as a client.

The purpose is to create clarity, safety, and trust from the very beginning, so you can feel secure in knowing how the counselling relationship will work. We’ll then talk about what brings you to counselling, what you’d like to achieve, and how we might work together.

What is person-centred counselling?

Person-centred counselling is a gentle, non-judgemental, non-directive approach that puts you at the heart of the process. I’ll provide empathy, respect, and understanding, while you set the pace and direction of our conversations. This way of working values your inner strengths and capacity for growth.

How do I know what type of counselling I need?

You don’t need to decide before starting. In our first sessions, we’ll explore your needs together and see what approach feels right for you. Sometimes, the relationship with the counsellor is more important than the “type” of counselling.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed. You can contact me directly to arrange counselling.

How confidential is counselling?

Confidentiality is central to counselling. What you share with me stays private, with only a few legal exceptions (such as immediate risk of serious harm). I will explain this fully in our first session so you know what to expect.

What if I feel nervous about therapy?

It’s very normal to feel nervous before starting. Counselling can feel like a big step. We’ll take things at your pace, and there’s no pressure to share more than you feel ready to.

What are the benefits of counselling?

Counselling can help you gain clarity, reduce stress, improve relationships, boost self-esteem, and develop healthier coping strategies. Many people find it brings relief, personal growth, and a greater sense of balance.

How long does counselling usually take?

The number of sessions varies for each person. Some people find a few sessions helpful for a specific issue, while others benefit from longer-term work. We can review progress together at any time.

How do I choose the right counsellor for me?

The relationship is key. It’s important that you feel safe and understood. This is why I offer a free 10-minute initial phone appointment to see if you feel comfortable with my style and approach before committing.

What if I don’t feel a connection with you as my counsellor?

That’s completely okay. Counselling is most effective when you feel comfortable with your counsellor. If we’re not the right fit, I can support you in finding someone who may suit you better.

Is counselling really worth it?

Many people find counselling life-changing. It offers a dedicated space for you to be heard, supported, and to make sense of your experiences. The investment is in your well-being, growth, and future.

How often do I need to attend sessions?

Sessions are usually weekly, as this helps build momentum and consistency. However, we can discuss a pace that suits your needs and circumstances.
